Notes available for sale
In most cases the note depicted for each item is the note for sale. However, in many instances we have multiple holdings of a note and in these cases, when a note is bought, we will send a note in the same condition as the note depicted. If you specifically want the note that is depicted, please contact us to confirm whether that specific note is still available.
Payment by methods other than credit cards or PayPal
If paying by a method other than credit card or PayPal, please remit funds in Australian Dollars by bank draft drawn on an Australian bank or by telegraphic transfer. Personal cheques in currencies other than Australian Dollars are not acceptable due to fluctuating exchange rates and high bank charges. If paying by cheque, we trust you will understand our need to wait until your cheque has cleared before we dispatch your order.
Purchasing security
John Pettit Rare Banknotes uses the eWAY Payment Gateway for its online credit card transactions. eWAY processes online credit card transactions for thousands of Australian merchants, providing a safe and secure means of collecting payments via the Internet. All online credit card transactions performed on this site using the eWAY gateway are secured payments.
- Payments are fully automated with an immediate response.
- Your complete credit card number cannot be viewed by John Pettit Rare Banknotes or any outside party.
- All transactions are performed under 128 Bit SSL Certificate.
- All transaction data is encrypted for storage within eWAY’s bank-grade data centre, further protecting your credit card data.
- eWAY is an authorised third party processor for all the major Australian banks.
- eWAY at no time touches your funds; all monies are directly transferred from your credit card to the merchant account held by John Pettit Rare Banknotes.

Shipping and delivery
Please allow 3 days for despatch of your item(s). Where we have your email address you will be advised when items have been despatched. Orders will be shipped by Australia Post’s Registered Post service (wherever possible). Please contact us at sales@johnpettit.com if you require insurance, otherwise the goods will remain uninsured, and no responsibility will be taken for items lost in transit.
Returns and replacements
You may return any item purchased within 10 days to receive a full credit or refund. Please email us at sales@johnpettit.com to let us know that you are doing so. This refund policy does not apply to goods which have been damaged after delivery, or if any attempt has been made to alter the item purchased. All products must be returned in their original condition. All postage and insurance costs are to be paid by the buyer.
We recommend that you return the product via Registered Post. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit so we therefore advise you take out shipment registration of insurance with your postal carrier. John Pettit Rare Banknotes will not be responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit if you choose not to insure.
Viewing orders
Your order details and delivery status can be viewed at any time by visiting the My Account section of the John Pettit website. If you have questions about your order that aren’t answered there, please contact us at sales@johnpettit.com so we can help you out.
Updating account information
Your account details with us are easily updated in the My Account section of the John Pettit website. It’s your responsibility to ensure that you keep these details up to date, to ensure that all goods shipped to you have the best possible chance of reaching their final destination.
