$20 (twenty dollars) AUSTRALIA Signatures Phillips and Randall Star Replacement 1968. The concept of 'Star Replacement' notes was introduced in Australia in 1948. Following decimalisation in 1966 the system continued initially only for the $1, $2, $5 and $10, although the 'star' became an 'asterisk' and a 'Z' prefix was implemented to distinguish stars from normal notes. The $20 star replacement notes were produced from 1968 until the production of 'star' notes ceased in 1971. The Phillips and Randall 'star replacement' note is the only variety available for the $20 denomination and is the rarest of all Decimal Star Replacement Notes making it worthy of careful consideration for any serious investor.
