NEW ZEALAND Bank of Australasia £1 (One Pound) Wellington 1 January 1931. The bank commenced note issue in Australia in 1835 and opened branches in New Zealand in 1864. Notes were issued by the bank until 1934 when the Reserve Bank of New Zealand was established and took over note issue. There are only around 55 notes of this type in private hands. This note is affordably priced bearing in mind recent interest in the New Zealand series. PS 132.
